New Message from Moonlight Peaks
Hey! I just tried the demo for Moonlight Peaks and this might be worth putting on your tbp list.
It’s a farming sim, but with a twist: instead of waking up with the sun, your day starts when the sun sets because you’re a vampire! Maybe this imitates life too much if you’re a night owl… You’ll still grow crops and get to know the townsfolk like normal since everyone in Moonlight Peaks lives a supernatural life. Plus magic is involved, which adds a really cozy, whimsical vibe.
The game is being developed by Little Chicken and published by XSEED (who also publish Story of Seasons iykyk). It’s still early, full release isn’t expected until 2026, but the demo already shows a lot of promise. I’ve actually seen some updates since I first tried it, so the devs are clearly listening to feedback.
Visually, it’s really charming. The overworld uses a cute, chibi art style, while the character portraits are more sketchy and expressive. It has this soft, moody feel that reminds me a bit of Dredge in its art.
There isn’t a lot of story in the demo yet, it’s mostly focused on the farming gameplay. But the setup is really interesting. You’re Dracula’s child, trying to prove that even vampires can live a life of compassion. You’ll also find bits of lore scattered around that hint at the town’s history and the seven founding families. It feels like there’s a much bigger story waiting to unfold.
Oh, and you can turn into a bat and fly around. It’s adorable.
