New Message from The Sky Islands

Let me tell you about this game Aloft! It’s a cozy survival game set in the clouds, with floating islands you can hop between using a glider. It came out back in January 2025 in early access.

You start off on a lush sky island that’s drifting around this eternal hurricane (dramatic, right?), gathering resources, visiting other islands, and trying to fight off this fungal corruption that’s slowly spreading to the other islands.

Oh! And there’s co-op! I can already picture us building floating homes and yelling at each other about who just used up all the wood we spent 20 minutes collecting.

Even though it’s a survival game, it feels really peaceful. The combat is probably the most intense part, but even that’s super manageable. The game focuses on rewarding you for trying vs punishing you for failing. It’s very much a “wind-in-your-hair, let’s-just-vibe-and-build” kind of game.

There’s also this cool narrative thread where you start finding clues that people have been here before—but where they went, and how you ended up in the sky to begin with, is a total mystery. Since it’s still in early access, I’m really hoping they expand on that story as development goes on.

I’ve already sunk so many hours into it and I’m nowhere near finished. I’m especially loving the co-op, it adds a whole new level of fun. If you pick it up, let me know!
