New Message from the Wastelands

I know Fallout 76 might not be on your radar (with its post-apocalyptic, grimy vibes), but I’ve been playing it and I think you’d actually really love it! Especially if we played together.

There’s this base-building system where you get your own little safe haven (called a C.A.M.P.) that you can decorate and return to whenever the world gets overwhelming. It scratches the same itch as setting up your own farm and house (lowkey there's actually farming in this too!).

So many options for building, you can discover blueprints as you explore the Wastelands

The NPCs are quirky, weird, and morally gray. Your choices matter, depending on how you build your stats, you can talk your way into or out of different situations. It feels very character-driven in that way.

Also, you walk around with a little radio, called a pipboy, and it’ll play anything from vintage music to story related broadcasts from other settlers. And if you don’t want that, the ambient sound is actually really calming. It even changes when enemies spot you, which helps me a lot because combat is definitely not my strong suit.

Honestly, I wouldn’t play this game alone. It’s way more fun with someone. The story is good, but what I’ve loved most is exploring with my partner, building our little camp setups, and surviving the Wastelands together. It feels like our own post-apocalyptic adventure.

Sometimes your friends will glitch, and that is almost more fun.

It caught me off guard in the best way, so I ended up making a video about it too. If you're curious, you can watch it here, but no pressure.

I think you’d like it because it has these comforting moments of peace inside the chaos. Want to try it out sometime?
